In this workshop on herbal medicine and ancestry we'll explore how plants are a pathway to supporting health, wellness, autonomy, and self empowerment.

While we all have herbalism in our ancestry it is unusual to have a direct connection to that knowledge, via an elder, so we will embrace creative methods to discover the ways our ancestors may have worked with plants. The field of herbal medicine encompasses ceremonial plants, food plants and medicinal plants. This workshop space will be a safe container to explore all of these pathways and how they intersect with ancestry.

We will drink herbal tea together while we engage in activities that help us playfully explore with how our ancestors worked with plants. We'll discuss and record "herbal applications" to observe the universal patterns that emerge from our memories and imaginings. The workshop will conclude with a group herbal tea mixing session and sharing of insights sparked from the workshop. Everyone will leave with some of the tea, and know how to brew it, in order to continue the workshop experience in an ongoing and practical way.
