Clove Valley Farm
81 Clove Valley Rd, High Falls, NY 12440
Clove Valley is a permaculture-inspired and community-powered farm in the 18th year of development. It is a productive market garden, nursery and a center for education, arts, and healing. Come see how the once swampy clay land has been transformed into gorgeous and abundant permanent raised beds! Tour the gardens and greenhouses and get the farmer's perspective on the land with a chance to have your questions answered.
We'll begin with the farm tour, and then harvesting of various herbs and greens. You'll be invited to glean veggies to take home! Then we'll all head back to the outdoor kitchen and make all sorts of pestos. Pesto can be made all season long, even without basil and pine nuts! There are so many delicious options for pestos, and they freeze incredibly well, so it's a perfect opportunity to stock up on raw herbs and greens for winter.
Leave with at least one jar of pesto, and with the skills to make more at home!
Aileah Kvashay has been managing Clove Valley Community Farm for 15 years, and practicing and studying regenerative agriculture for 20 years. She weaves her passions for gardening, community-building, art, and teaching into her work at Clove Valley. She sells vegetables, herbs and flowers at the Woodstock Farm Festival every Wednesday from 3-7pm, on the farm Thursdays from 4-7pm, and offers a huge variety of seedlings at the Clove Valley Plant Sale every April and May. Her vision, along with her Clove Valley farm family, is to be a model of sustainability and community living. Together we strive to offer hope and healing and inspiration during these uncertain times.
