The microbiome refers to the community of micro-organisms – bacteria, viruses, fungi and other microbes – that inhabit various parts of our body, especially the gastrointestinal tract. A diverse, balanced gut microbiome supports digestion, nutrient absorption, immune function and even mood regulation through the gut-brain axis.
Why should we care about Gut health?
Immune system regulation: 70% of the immune system resides in the gut
Mental health: The gut produces serotonin and communicates with the brain
Chronic disease: An imbalance in the microbiome has been linked to obesity, diabetes, and
autoimmune disease.
Learn how to harness the hidden power of the microbiome for better health.
