Amber has been teaching community yoga classes and yoga therapy using the Raja, Hatha, and Bhakti branches of yoga since 2012. She has been a practitioner of yoga since 2007 and seriously committed to the lifestyle when she began to feel and understand the healing powers of yoga. Amber received her 200 hour yoga teacher training certification from the RajaHatha School of Yoga under Amy Pearce-Hayden. She has also studied the Bhagavad Gita and Bhakti yoga under Mark (Madan Mohan) Oppenheimer from 2013-2020.
Amber recognizes the importance of combining her psychological knowledge with yogic embodiment practices to maximize healing outcomes for her clients. In her counseling work she offers guidance with becoming mindful. This means to recognize we are the witnesser of our thoughts, feelings, words, and behaviors. In gaining the ability to have space from our minds and bodies we can then respond more skillfully than our old patterned responses. We can explore feelings; learn to accept, nurture, and love them. We can seek understanding about those who have hurt us, accept what happened, find compassion and finally forgive. We can slowly train our minds to become our best friends who tend to our feelings and needs in a flexible and creative way. We can accept and work with all our inner parts creating a cohesive inner family.
Amber is the owner of yoganutwear.com, a site for YogaNut - an eco yoga apparel and gear company, yoga classes and privates. In 2023 she will be launching her new business The Subtle Side of Life to include spiritual, relational, and nutritional coaching, yoga therapy, workshops and retreats. Additionally, Amber is a published writer in the magazine Elephant Journal and working on three spiritual books.
