Therese Bimka, Project Director

Therese Bimka, MA, LCSW is a spiritual director, psychotherapist, artist, activist and the former Director of The Interspiritual Counseling Program at One Spirit Interfaith Alliance (2011-2021).  She is a seasoned leader of retreats and workshops on a wide range of psycho-spiritual, educational and creative themes.  Therese has been designing curriculum for children and adults for 30+ years.  She was part of the founding staff at the renowned Brooklyn New School (1987- 1993) and has worked with children and families for many years.  Teaching is at the heart of her service.

Therese has post graduate training in many modalities including trauma-based teachings (Somatic Experiencing), guided visualizations for wellness, mindfulness meditation, Buddhist Psychology, Expressive Arts,  Jungian Sandplay Therapy, Soulcollage, and has studied Collective Trauma with Thomas Hubl.  Therese has designed CEUs programs for mental health professionals and is also a certified teacher as well as being SIFI Certified—enabling her to supervise graduate social work interns.

Therese has been an avid supporter of the Holistic Health Community for over 10 years and has contributed in multiple ways including organizing pop up clinics at The Dharmakaya Center for Wellbeing for the annual BIPOC Leadership Retreat well as zoom hosting and tech support for all of our self-care programs during Covid.  As Project Director, she will design and lead a trauma-informed holistic wellness program for high school students.
