Functional medicine looks at how a person's environment (both past and current) interplays with their genetics in order to build individualized health plans. Functional medicine coaches work with lifestyle practices such as movement, meditation and breathwork as well as nutrition, hydration, botanicals, and supplementation. Action plans are co-created and supported with resources, compassion, and accountability. Functional medicine embraces preventive and integrative medicine in order to avoid future problems and optimize one's current state of health.

In this workshop, Functional Medicine Practitioner, Clinical Herbalist and Board Certified Health Coach, and Holistic Health Community Practitioner Ashley Lathrop will discuss ways to supplement our diets with herbs, vitamins, and other compounds. People’s Place offers free supplements to the public, and workshop participants will go home with some of the herbal supplements and vitamins that are discussed in the course.

Though there is no charge for the event, we suggest a $20 donation to Holistic Health Community as a way to honor the care you receive. Your contribution assists us in offering affordable holistic healthcare and wellness education to the community. If you’re able to give more, we welcome your generosity. Your support helps others receive services when they need them the most.
